What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Specialist position at MCHS Family of Services?
The Food Service Specialist participates in ordering, planning, preparing, and serving food to maintain quality food service for the Agency.
- Prepares and serves food to ensure acceptable food products and service.
- Participates in determining inventory needs and orders food and supplies.
- Oversees the cleaning, maintenance and security of the food service department.
- Maintains daily records and prepares related reports.
- Coordinates the activities related to food preparation regarding correct amounts and time/cost factors.
- Coordinates special activities and dinners for the food service program.
- Maintains the daily operations of the Food Service program in the absence of the Food Services Supervisor.
Education and Experience
- At least one years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in food service production, supervision and inventory maintenance;
- One year of college, technical, vocational, or trade school preferred;
