The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) & Application Support Specialist will develop strategies for OCR solutions to extract text and data from images and documents and other applications that are utilized by Mortgage Connect Risk Solutions.
What you will do (Responsibilities)
We are looking for a skilled and innovative OCR Subject Matter Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing strategies for OCR solutions to extract text and data from images and documents.
Essential Job Functions and Requirements
- Manage an OCR system and other applications utilized by MCRS
- Develop strategies for document classification and data extraction and other applications for MCRS
- Develop metrics for measuring performance
- Understand how to manage capacity/demand management
- Design and implement OCR capabilities to extract text and data accurately from images, scanned documents, and other sources.
- Optimize OCR capabilities for speed, accuracy, and reliability.
- Integrate OCR solutions with existing applications and systems to automate data extraction processes.
- Collaborate with software developers to ensure seamless integration of OCR functionalities.
- Stay updated on the latest OCR technologies and tools in the industry.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of OCR solutions to ensure high precision and recall rates.
- Customize OCR solutions to meet specific project requirements and handle various document formats.
- Configure OCR parameters for optimal performance in different scenarios.
- Optimize OCR solutions for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.
- Implement parallel processing and other techniques to enhance processing speed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for OCR algorithms, configurations, and integration procedures.
- Provide documentation for troubleshooting and support purposes.
What you will bring (Qualifications)
Required Education & Work Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Document Analysis
- Strong Technical aptitude and experience with MS Operating Systems and Linux
- Strong attention to detail, and precision of data entry
- Ability to multitask and navigate several programs and applications.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality and security policies to protect Non-Public Information
- Physical demands – ability to lift/move boxes of up to 30 pounds.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft Excel macros
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server
- Experience in developing OCR solutions.
- Programming skills, with proficiency in languages such as C#, VB/VBA
- Knowledge of OCR libraries and frameworks (e.g., Tesseract, ABBYY, Google Cloud Vision API).
- Familiarity with image processing techniques and formats.
