The Food Service Specialist is responsible for providing quick, efficient, and quality food service to our customers. Our goal is to be more than just a convenience store. We seek to Refresh, Refuel, and Reward each customer that comes through our doors. MacFood Mart is a locally owned and operated chain of convenience stores and Sunoco gas stations. McIntosh Energy is the parent company of MacFood Mart and has been operating in Fort Wayne since 1953.
SUMMARY: Primary duty is to prepare and serve food as well as maintain a neat food service area. The food service clerk will also be expected to represent and promote the store and MacFood Mart Rewards loyalty in an up-beat manner which insures customer confidence and maximum efficiency for the store. As needed, coordinate activities and cooperate with other departments of the company to best serve the needs of the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Order, Prepare, Stock, and Inventory Hot Food Items
- Utilize Build-To Charts
- Cashiering
- Ensure customer service is a priority with a goal of achieving 95% on customer service shops.
- Ability to pass Food Quality Checks
- Ensure to keep Food Service area and store clean.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Dress according to dress code each day.
- Willingness to attend company functions and meetings.
Qualifications Requirements
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Serve Safe or equivalent certification required. If the applicant does not have qualifications, he/she must be willing to be trained. McIntosh Energy Co. will cover the expenses of said training.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or proof of general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and write professionally
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to do basic math using whole numbers, common factions, and decimals.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Register comprehension.
