Job Summary:
The Project Manager (PM) serves as a critical leader within the organization, responsible for overseeing and delivering construction projects through the Basic Installation Unit (BIU) model. The primary role of the Project Manager is to serve as both a leader within the organization, and as the primary leader of a BIU. This dual role requires comprehensive oversight of all project management activities, resource allocation, and team leadership to ensure the successful execution and delivery of construction projects. The Project Manager (BIU Leader) is responsible for driving performance, fostering team collaboration, and upholding the company’s mission, vision, and values. The PM position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to BIU team members, including assistant project managers, superintendents, foremen, and crew members.
- Establish and maintain a collaborative and performance-driven team environment.
- Ensure readiness, accountability, and well-being of all personnel and equipment allocated to the BIU.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all BIU-related operations and coordinate with other departments to meet project objectives.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the allocation and use of BIU resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Manage project budgets, focusing on cost control and maximizing profitability.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and problem-solving.
- Ensure proper records management, including project documentation, safety reports, and financial performance metrics.
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
- Forecast future project needs, including manpower, materials, and scheduling, to meet project deadlines effectively.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor progress and performance throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to close-out.
- Conduct regular quality assurance and safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to Mission critical Interior Solution, Inc's safety programs, training, and policies, as well as promote and manage the Safety & Health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
- Ability to travel multiple times a month, as required for the job.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree – Construction Management, Construction Technology, or related field of study from an accredited program
- Commercial construction industry or assistant project management experience, required.
- 5 year minimum of experience in a leadership position.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding work environment with the ability to travel on short notice.
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Owner's, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineers, Field Installers, and other team members) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Experience with Procore software or similar project management software is preferred.
