What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at MCJ Construction?
MCJ Construction, LLC., is looking to grow our team. We are a general contractor headquartered in Mayfield, NY that focuses in Water and Wastewater Utility conveyance and treatment systems for public and private entities located throughout Western, Central, and Northern NY. We currently are seeking a Project Engineer with a background in heavy civil and water utilities construction/engineering to join our family.
This is an Onsite position that requires the candidate to assist with coordinating and monitoring construction projects in the field, ensuring they adhere to plans, specifications, and regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and controls, assist with job cost accounting, scheduling, construction supervision, and efforts to support the project superintendent. In order to be successful, this candidate should independent and feel comfortable on an active construction site with a familiarity with safe construction practices and a openness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Management Team with project documentation and deliverables
- Assist with on-site construction management and inspection
- Assist with developing construction cost estimates and bid proposals
- Regional travel to project sites will be required
- Ability to interface with the Owner, Subcontractor's, and Engineers
- Comply with and help enforce Company Safety Policy
- Ensure project plan is moving forward to meet anticipated deadlines
- Identify and generate RFI's and submittal's
- Inspect and track construction progress
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 1 - 3 years' of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager
- Experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
