What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infrastructure Principal Architect position at MCK McKesson Corporation?
The Infrastructure Principal Architectrole is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive infrastructure solutions that encompass Compute (including virtualization), Storage / Data Protection, Datacenters, Cloud Computing, and Observability. You will work closely with McKesson Technology cross-functional teams and report directly to the VP of Infrastructure. This role requires an extensive understanding of infrastructure and architecture principles, and the ability to translate requirements into innovative & robust technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and technology strategies.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices for infrastructure platforms.
- Ensure observability is integrated into infrastructure solutions for proactive monitoring and management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide expert guidance to the infrastructure team and other technical staff.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities and performance.
- Collaborate with the cyber security team to ensure that infrastructure solutions comply with security standards and best practices.
- Participate in the budgeting and planning process for infrastructure projects.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on project status and infrastructure initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s i2Care and iLead values to ensure development and growth.
