What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney, Family Law position at McKean Family Law?
McKean Family Law, APC, located in East Roseville, is looking to hire a full-time Associate Attorney. We are looking for a driven and compassionate individual who is committed to advocating for what is in the best interest of the clients. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, persuasive writing ability, effective oral argument skills, sound judgment, a high level of integrity and a strong work ethic. Although 1-2 years of family law experience is preferred, we will consider little or no family law experience for the right candidate. The Associate will be assigned their own cases and will receive significant support and guidance from the managing attorney when needed.

The successful candidate must be able to:
· Establish positive and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues and the courts
· Effectively apply legal solutions to clients’ issues
· Clearly and empathetically communicate legal options to clients
· Research case law, draft correspondence and draft and file pleadings
· Effectively represent clients at hearings, depositions and trial
· Consult with and retain new clients
· Manage, train and work with paralegals and legal assistants
· Work with staff to accurately calendar all hearings, filing deadlines and other key dates
· Effectively communicate with the managing attorney to continue developing skill set and take on more challenging legal issues
· Use Clio, Lawyaw, DissoMaster, Lexis, Word, Excel, and other technology, including cloud-based software, to efficiently generate work product and records
· Bilingual or Spanish proficiency preferred

Additional requirements include a JD from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with the California State Bar. You must be able to attend in-person hearings and trials in Sacramento and Placer Counties.
The salary will be commensurate with experience, with an approximate annual salary range of $72,000 to $102,000. We also offer health, dental, vision, and short-term disability insurance benefits, 10 paid holidays a year, PTO, and 401(k) plan with employer matching (after a qualifying period). We provide payment of bar dues, continuing education, and other perquisites, which will be discussed in interviews.
