Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team in Water/Sewer Underground Utility Installation - Excavation and Trenching industry. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as CPR, First Aid, and emergency response
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Maintain safety records and reports for internal and external audits
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and make recommendations for improvements
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with EHS standards
- Fabricate safety signage and equipment as needed
- Manage workers' compensation claims and work with insurance providers
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
Requirements:
- OSHA 510, SSH, or CSHO preferred.
- Proficiency in workers' compensation law and regulations
- Strong knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) practices
- Experience in training development on safety topics
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR when necessary
- Excellent report writing skills for incident documentation
- Familiarity with EPA regulations related to workplace safety
