Produce Clerk Overview
Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for assisting with the operation of the Produce Department by preparing, stocking, rotating and merchandising product to promote optimal opportunity for sales.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for consistently working to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking each customer upon fulfilling their request.
- Responsible for projecting oneself in a professional manner in accordance with our dress code.
- Responsible for maintaining neat, clean, safe and organized sales floor at all times, adhering to all corporate and state sanitation regulations.
- Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Produce Department to include preparing,maintaining stock levels, rotating, and merchandising product per all state and corporate safety standards.
- Responsible for rotating and examining perishable product to ensure proper quality control, code and condition.
- Responsible for operating various produce equipment.
- Responsible for controlling shrinkage through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining controls and security in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for communicating new policies or promotional programs to our customers.
- Responsible for knowing the store layout and assisting customers in finding items.
- Responsible for performing other related duties as assigned by management and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and write at the 8th grade level.
- Ability to follow directions.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent repetitive motion of hands, wrists, arms and shoulders.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and climbing.
- Frequent carrying and lifting from floor to shoulders of up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of up to 70 pounds.
- Frequent gripping of up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to cool temperatures.
- Ability to work in a store environment.
Salary : $12 - $13
