What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor for School of Education (Non-Tenure Track) position at McKendree University?
McKendree University, located in Lebanon, IL, invites applicants for the position of non-tenure track Instructor for the School of Education. The qualified candidate will teach a wide range of courses including (but not limited to) foundational, special education, and methodology courses in science, social science, physical education, and/or the arts in our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), Paraprofessional, and undergraduate programs. This is a full-time position and is eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities
Salary Range: $40,260.00 - $50,000.00 / Annually
Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.

Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging curriculum for methodology courses in various subject areas, including but not limited to science, social science, physical education, and the arts
- Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, group activities, and hands-on teaching experiences to develop students' pedagogical skills
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and effective teaching strategies
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to aspiring educators to enhance their teaching skills
- Stay current with best practices in K-12 education and adapt instructional methods accordingly
- Supervise students in the field during student teaching
- Master's or doctorate in Education or a related field. (Doctorate preferred)
- LBS1 licensure preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of K-12 teaching experience in a public or private school setting
- A strong understanding of various teaching methodologies across different subject areas
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
- Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the curriculum
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive academic community
- A passion for teaching and a dedication to shaping the next generation of educators
- Familiarity with working in the Brightspace Learning Management System (or similar) is desired. Day/night-time and/or online availability is preferred.
