Job Description – Parts Counter Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Checking in stock orders and stocking shelves
- Processing of warranty and core returns
- Throwing away empty parts boxes
- Assist with preparing daily wholesale deliveries
- Keep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean, near and clearly labeled.
- Keep front and rear counters clean and uncluttered.
- Assist in day to day tasks as directed by Parts Manager and senior Parts Associates.
- Assist with buyback returns, core returns and warranty send backs.
- Pull purchased parts from stock.
- If the part is not in stock work with senior staff to determine availability and submit fiscally sound ordering.
- Train to answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with customers and coworkers.
- Provide the same high level of service to the other dealership departments, as is given to outside customers.
- Advise Parts Manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition.
- Preferably train to become fully fledge Parts Associate including participation in available training programs.
Qualifications:
- Organized, positive person
- High School degree or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand technical information
- Strong communication skills to explain part information to customers and associates
- Experience with parts inventorying procedures
- Ability to lift or move 25 to 50 lbs
- Able to work rotating Saturdays
Highly Preferred:
- Bilingual
Compensation:
- Base hourly rate

Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Required experience:
- Direct contact customer service: 1 year
Required license or certification:
- Driver's License with no/minimal infractions
