What are the responsibilities and job description for the McKenzie Brewing Cellar Worker position at McKenzie Brewing?
McKenzie brewing in Eugene, Oregon is in search of the right candidate to join our brewery team as a cellar worker.
The Cellar Worker is responsible for all duties involved in the fermentation and packaging of beer while maintaining good manufacturing practices. Responsibilities include CIP/sanitation of fermentation and brite beer tanks, transferring finished beer, monitoring the fermentation of beer, yeast management, conditioning beer, carbonating beer to the correct level, keg washing and packaging(kegging).
Other duties of the Cellar Worker include cleaning floors, outsides of tanks, miscellaneous parts, and floor drains. The Cellar Worker should expect to work a between 30 and 40 hours per week and up to 10 hours a day, if necessary, depending on the production schedule.
Other Job Requirements:
- Dry hopping
- Ability to follow SOPs
- Precise record keeping
- Basic knowledge of brewing science (i.e. gravity and pH readings)
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Supporting a culture of safety by using proper PPE and best practices
- Ability to drive a box truck for moving supplies and deliveries
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50 lbs regularly
- Regularly move 160 lbs (kegs)
- Work in hot/cold and wet environments that requiring twisting, bending, pulling, and pushing in tight areas
- Stand for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
