Job Summary:
The Automotive Sales Professional is responsible for guiding customers through the vehicle purchasing process, from initial inquiry to final delivery. This role involves building rapport with customers, understanding their needs, demonstrating vehicle features, and ultimately facilitating the sale of new and pre-owned vehicles. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, customer-focused, and possess a strong drive to achieve sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Identify customer needs and preferences through effective questioning and active listening.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales process.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all new and pre-owned vehicles in the dealership's inventory, including features, specifications, benefits, and pricing.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new models, and competitor vehicles.
- Effectively demonstrate vehicle features and benefits to potential customers.
- Sales Process:
- Conduct effective vehicle presentations and demonstrations.
- Guide customers through the vehicle selection process, offering recommendations based on their needs and budget.
- Explain financing and leasing options clearly and concisely.
- Negotiate pricing and terms of sale in a professional and ethical manner.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Follow up with potential customers to nurture leads and close sales.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain a clean and organized showroom and lot .
- Assist in the appraisal of trade-in vehicles.
- Customer Follow-Up:
- Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including sales managers, finance managers, and service department staff.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all dealership policies and procedures.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to vehicle sales.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Proven sales experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a passion for helping people.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with CRM software.
