Description
Under the direction of the Ag Expo Director, the Ag Expo Specialist will provide support to the Ag Expo. This position is responsible for building and maintenance tasks involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, custodial, painting, and other skills. Perform snow removal, mowing, ground maintenance, both emergency and non – emergency repairs. Set up rooms for events/activities. This position is located in Watford City, ND and scheduled for Monday – Friday, as well as hours in the evenings/weekends as events commence. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate heavy equipment such as a front – end loader, mower, tractor, water truck, tool cat, and dump truck
- Coordinate the maintenance of the facility, grounds, building, and equipment
- Construct, rebuild, and repair equipment including various wood and metal structures, equipment, and furniture
- Coordinates with custodian and maintenance staff to ensure office supplies, toiletries, etc. are in stock for regular and high traffic times.
- Ensure seamless transition between events and activities
- Remove snow and ice from entryways, sidewalks, parking lots, and other areas.
- Completes, tracks, and/or maintains a variety of records and maintenance logs.
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for facility
- Create and maintain operations and maintenance logs for all vehicles and equipment
- Meet with Ag Expo Director regularly to inform about facility; including but not limited to projects completed, projects needed, maintenance needed and completed, etc.
- Participate in regular meetings with event staff to ensure events are properly staffed and equipped to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform general ground maintenance such as mowing lawns, landscaping, pruning trees, seeding, and spraying weeds
- Ability to be on call for responding to after hour emergencies
- In conjunction with the Ag Expo Director, work with Facilities Manager as needed for Ag Expo needs
- Assists in meetings and set up/tear down for events as needed
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years old
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience with heavy equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of computers, computer programs, scanning equipment and various other office machines.
- Work proficiently and effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule
- Must be a self-starter and goal oriented
- Physical requirements and working conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively
- Ability to handle exposure to loud noises and extreme weather conditions.
Level and salary commensurate with experience; starting at $31.35 per hour.
