Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner): Walk in Clinic
Position Description:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) will plan, direct, and evaluate resident and employee health care in ambulatory health services; examine and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses; perform selected laboratory testing; offer referrals to physicians, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. The Nurse Practitioner will also work with the medical director in the care and treatment of patients.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical exams and medical history reviews.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, X-rays, and other imaging studies.
- Diagnose medical conditions and develop treatment plans.
- Provide a diagnosis for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications and therapies (depending on state laws and scope of practice).
- Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, wound care, and injections.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
- Offer counseling on lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, and stress management.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide consultation and referrals to specialists as necessary.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide ongoing care for patients with chronic illnesses or conditions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and insurance requirements.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans clearly and thoroughly.
- Serves as a member of committees dealing with health care.

Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
- May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.

- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Education/Experience:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Advance Practice Nursing (MSN or DNP).
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed by the State Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current BLS Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Current ACLS Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Current PALS Certification or willingness to obtain.
