Clinic Nurse LVN/LPN (Ortho)

Job Summary:

The Clinic LVN/LPN Nurse in our Rural Health Clinic and Specialty Clinic will provide care to patients at our fast-paced medical clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patient health, providing treatments, administering medications, and assists an RN in educating patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Additionally, the Clinic Nurse will work closely with the medical staff to ensure quality care is provided to all patients.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Daily activities of CMA (III)/CNA

Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the management of patient flow and clinic operations.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
    • Support billing and insurance processes as required.
    • Implement emergency protocols and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
  • Participates in analyzing and planning coordinated nursing services in an assigned area.
  • Provides nursing care to patients requiring professional nursing service; gives prescribed medications and other treatments.
  • Interprets care plans and demonstrates appropriate procedures to licensed vocational nurses, nursing aides, and other staff.
  • Participates in coordinating total clinic services in the interest of the patient.
  • Provides for continuity of effective patient and family care by exchanging information and cooperating with workers of other community health and welfare agencies concerned such as hospitals, schools, and industries.
  • Assists patients in achieving healthful, safe living for all age groups by giving instructions and guidance in the basic principles relating to accident prevention, communicable disease control, nutrition, child growth and development, and physical and emotional fitness.
  • Aids individuals and families to accept and adjust positively to physical, mental, and social limitations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned specific to work area or specialty.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.

The PRN LPN Traveler must be able to commit to one of the following levels and live at least 50 miles from the facility :

Level I PRN Cinic LPN:

Staff are hired as PRN Clinic LPN.

  • Staff will be hired at the flat rate established in Human Resources and reviewed annually.
  • Staff in this role are not eligible for annual pay rate increases.
  • Will be scheduled into the Clinical Schedule by the Supervisor or via Paycom Scheduling.
  • Four shifts per four (4) week schedule is required unless not needed for staffing.

Level II PRN24 Clinic LPN (8 hour shifts) requires a commitment of:

  • Twelve shifts per four (4) week schedule.
  • Four of the eight shifts must be weekend shifts as needed.
  • Shifts will be assigned according to the needs of the unit. Schedules will reside in Paycom Scheduling.
  • Commitment to two holidays, one major and one minor, within a six-month rolling calendar.
  • Compensation will be at a defined hourly rate that will be reviewed with Human Resources no less than annually to validate market position.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year recent hospital, long term care, clinic experience for the facility or department they are expected to be assigned.

Level III PRN 40 Clinic LPN (8 hour shifts) requires a commitment of:

  • Level III will be entered into for a designated time frame only in 13-week increments.
  • Shifts will be assigned according to the needs of the unit. Staff will be scheduled 36 hours/week and every other weekend as defined by the department. Schedules will reside in Paycom Scheduling
  • Commitment to two holidays, one major and one minor holiday per agreement as assigned by the needs of the unit.
  • Respond positively to a minimum of two unscheduled requests for coverage per four-week schedule.
  • Staff eligible for this level within the program must possess all the necessary skills and certifications/credentials necessary to function in the clinic/unit designated.
  • Level III PRN nurses must meet unit or hospital on call requirements, if applicable.
  • The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) must approve and sign the authorization below for a Level III prior to that person being enrolled or hired into the Level III program.
  • Compensation will be at a defined hourly rate that may be reviewed by Human Resources on an annual basis.
  • Candidates for this program must have a minimum of 2 years recent hospital, long term care, clinic experience for the facility or department they are expected to be assigned.
