Radiologic Technologist
Position Description:
A Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams following interpreting radiologist protocols. The Technologist verifies the provider’s order for accuracy and completeness; cares for the patient by explaining the procedure, showing concern for comfort and modesty, seeing all safety procedures, and providing excellent images for the patient’s continuum of care in the diagnostic process. Technologists ensure safe, knowledgeable use of all equipment to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to our patients and coworkers. Superior customer service is paramount to the entire patient’s experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that perfects patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors- Interacts professionally with patient/ family.
- Provides care proper to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
- Assesses patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes proper physician contact for intervention.
- Follows ALARA principles ensuring lowest dose to get acceptable diagnostic quality imaging.
- Selects proper equipment, technique, and protocol to use for procedure and decides most suitable anatomical posture and positions.
- Responsible for safe handling of equipment
- Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures, follows universal precautions- manages/ starts IVs for Radiology needs.
- Helps in keeping basic records and reports.
- Helps in training of students and ancillary personnel.
- Takes x-ray, CT calls according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours if needed.
- Compiles and keeps quality assurance information for mammography, per ACR, State of North Dakota Department of Health Standards, the FDA and the Department of Health and Human Services.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Physically demanding, high-stress environment

- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Have strong organizational skills, diligence, and a clear understanding of the importance of professional etiquette through phone calls and email correspondence.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Education/Experience:
- High School graduate.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- One (1) year of experience as a Board-Certified Radiologist preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R), and Computed Tomography (CT). (Or competent in CT as decided by the Manager or Assistant Manager). MRI (MR) and/or Mammography (M) registry is needed if the Technologist performs those modalities.
- Certified by the State of North Dakota to practice and administer radiation.
- Current BCLS certification.
