Shift : Evening Shift 1430 to 0100
Hours Per Week : 7 days on / 7 days off rotation

Job Summary :
- Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Staff Pharmacists are responsible for medication management including medication prescribing in some instances, transcribing orders, dispensing products, advising other healthcare practitioners and patients on administrating medications, and monitoring overall drug therapy for patients.
- This includes prescribing medication by protocol or other authorization, entering orders into the computer and / or verifying order entry for all pharmaceuticals, reviewing medication profiles, checking drug products prior to dispensing, monitoring therapies, providing drug information and coordinating medication use with available technological applications including automated dispensing machines, Nursing-Pharmacy communication via scan / fax, use of clinical decision support software, smart pumps and bar code scanning applications including bedside-medication verification.
- The overall focus is on safety first, clinical efficacy, and cost-effectiveness overall.
- Participation in key quality initiatives and studies related to drug therapy is essential.
- The Clinical Staff Pharmacist supervises direct support personnel.
- The pharmacist on duty is considered the responsible pharmacist in charge of immediate requirements for Pharmacy operations and informs and advises the Director of Pharmacy on issues including those requiring further action.
- In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a Clinical Staff Pharmacist may assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.
