The Position: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role includes conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and providing both direct therapy and consultative services. The SLP will collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, district personnel, outside consultants, and families to support student progress, ensure appropriate interventions, and promote an inclusive educational environment.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the SLP will provide case management, supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs), participate in school meetings, and plan, coordinate, and deliver staff training. The SLP is also expected to engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in the field.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Education and is primarily based in San Dimas, CA, with travel to additional school sites as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $80,000 - 90,000 annually depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree.
  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathology School Services credential or California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services credential with an authorization in Language, Speech, and Hearing.
  • Excellent Reading and Writing Skills
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to learn and apply various district computer-based IEP programs - SES, SEIS, etc.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic programs such as Word, Google Docs, etc.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and speech to engage in direct therapy and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office and therapy equipment for extended periods.
  • Mobility to navigate school campuses and travel between sites as needed.
  • DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively evaluates students for communicative disorders according to appropriate criteria as determined by state and federal guidelines.
  • Assumes responsibility for implementation of state and federal regulations as related to speech and language services.
  • Develop goals and recommendations for students with language, speech and hearing deficits.
  • Establishes individual education plans for students and reviews IEPs at least annually.
  • Collaborate and participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, Student Study Team meetings and
  • conferences as appropriate.
  • Employs assessment procedures, techniques and standard tests necessary for thorough and accurate diagnosis and conveys pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides a full continuum of speech-language therapy services to students who are in need of such services, including articulation and language therapy.
  • Provides consultation services to parents and teachers on appropriate speech and language activities, including training parents and teachers to use appropriate speech-language activities.
  • Required to travel to various school locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
