The Accounting Manager is responsible for the execution of day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role will plan, manage and coordinate general accounting and payroll functions of the organization, verify and prepare financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed accurately and on-time
- Coach and mentor accounting staff
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial reports
- Establish monthly closing schedule and supervise the maintenance of company general ledger
- Implement continuous improvement processes and procedures
- Compile various financial statements required by management or government agencies
- Partner with HR to ensure the accurate and timely processing and payment of payroll, benefits and tax filings
- Sales and Use Tax compliance and reporting
- Review and approve journal entries and adjustments to the general ledger
- Act as a technical resource to other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems, and to provide accurate, meaningful and timely analysis of information
- Assist in preparing and compiling budget information and end of the year financial reports
- Supports the Information Technology department
- Assist on training and control of the accounting information
- Act as the go to resource for staff on how to get financial answers from the system
- Other duties as assigned
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages Accounting staff
- Setting role expectations
- Provides and/or recommends training
- Creates development plans for short term and long-term growth of team
- Assesses talent and recommends appropriate staffing levels and succession planning with Leadership and HR
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should have 5 years of progressive accounting principles. Curiosity to investigate and correct issues as they arise, a sense of urgency to improve and solve problems. Driven to improve and create processes for the department.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 4 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing or construction environment. Experience in AP/AR and Credit and Collections processes, payroll reporting and state taxes. Must be an expert Microsoft Excel User. Experience SAP is a huge plus.
