Provides management for the stock preparation, water treatment, water reclamation, and Boiler operation departments for the mill.
Sets departmental policies, develops and administers comprehensive operational and capital budgets, and approves and controls departments expenditures.
Work is reviewed through analysis of reports, attainment of mills objectives, and compliance with regulatory standards.
This position is responsible for the mill’s RPTA Food Contact Certification.
Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling the daily operations of water production or water quality operations through the organization's superintendents and
managers including administration, operations, maintenance, engineering, construction and laboratory testing to effect operational efficiency and sustainability
Develops and implements current and long range strategic goals, objectives, and tactical plans per the mills business plan.
Measures performance of equipment and systems; prepares and reviews reports and operating/production
data for the organization and compares them to established objectives and standards; recommends and implements appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory results.
Identify and implement effective operations strategies, tools, and best practices.
Implement actions to improve productivity and compliance to departmental goals.
Develop annual budget and manage cost to meet operating budget objectives and lower conversion cost.
Drive continuous improvement in all areas of operations including safety, operations, quality, and cost.
Provide leadership and professionally manage operations area direct reports.
Perform evaluations with feedback and manage training and skills progression programs.
Drive behavior based safety culture and promote healthy, clean and good working environment.
Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.,
processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
Responsible for the design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing
information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize
inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
Taking personal responsibility for supporting and developing others by acting as a coach or mentor.
Allocating important projects and challenging responsibilities to others for the purpose of their development.
Building a performance culture by using systems of measurement to continuously improve on key performance indicators while creating an environment where it is normal practice to
exceed all internal and external customer needs.
Systematically evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of several realistic alternative solutions to issues. Creating an overarching strategy as a result of this analysis, which
maximizes the benefits and minimizes the risks of the original options.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: B.S. Chemical Engineering., and four months residency training at Papermill Plant.
Special requirements: Ability to obtain RPTA Certification
