McKinney Security is a division of McKinney Door Solutions, and we are looking for an experienced Access Control Technician to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
- Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including hardware and software components, based on approved guidelines and standards.
- Configure and maintain access control and video systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gate hardware, intercom/phone devices, etc.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to design customized access control solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Provide technical support for remote access software and integrated security systems (IDS).
- Conduct locksmithing tasks as needed for system upgrades or repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system designs, installations, and service records.
- Train personnel on the proper use of access control systems and protocols.
- Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
- Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices, keeping security information confidential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of access control systems.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV technology, fire alarm systems, and low voltage wiring.
- Familiarity with remote access software and integrated security solutions (IDS).
- Experience in locksmithing is a plus.
- Ability to design security systems tailored to client specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Relevant certifications in security technology or related fields are preferred, such as Avigilon, Lenel, BICSI.
