Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school's administrative staff.
Essential Functions
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
Type all written correspondence and properly route.
Receive all incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Maintain proper files to include inventory of school supplies, mailing list, students' records, visitor logs, and office communication.
Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment.
Sort, distribute, and deliver mail and other documents.
Prepare instructional materials, meeting agendas, honor rolls, graduation lists, and campus communication as requested, using computer.
Maintain a daily teacher attendance log.
Request and maintain records on Substitute Teachers.
Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for Supervisor.
Monitor personnel time records to include sick leave, vacation, and special requests.
Maintain a log of visitors to the school.
Update handbook, policy manuals, etc.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
Processes all monies on campus. Maintains attendance membership on students.
Provides appropriate first aid needs and administers medication in the absence of nurse.
Maintain and process any changes in student files regarding attendance, schedules, grades, and transcripts.
Posts daily attendance, keeps sign in/out student log.
Mailing of all student letters regarding attendance or academics.
Issue parking tags, identification cards, TEA cards, to students.
Maintain accurate log al all student activity for end of year report.
Responsible for maintaining all GED students' enrollment, attendance, files, and withdrawal records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise the paraprofessional clerical staff.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; occasional use of specialized equipment, as appropriate
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; works with frequent interruptions
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; reading, ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Other: Work as a team member and with peers, teachers, campus personnel and principals; professional demeanor, resourcefulness, communicate effectively with diverse groups and accept supervision; work without day-to-day supervision; regular and punctual attendance at the workplace
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board Policy on Evaluations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Experience
One to three years of clerical experience (preferred).
Requirements
Education / Certification:
High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge and Skills
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance.
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
