Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Ensure that each child crosses the designated crosswalk safely.
Essential Functions
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Each Guard is responsible for complying with attendance guidelines and the work hours of his/her position.
Guards must be punctual in arriving at the designated time.
The entire shift must be worked.
Be neat in appearance.
Be courteous and businesslike with children, drivers and the general public.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Equipment Used
Hand-held stop sign, fluorescent vest, rain poncho, traffic cones and signs
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical/Mental Demands
Lifting up to 15 pounds without assistance; long periods of standing and frequent stooping and bending; ontinuous walking, working in a dry and humid environment. Maintain self control at all times.
Environment
Work outside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, slippery or uneven walking surfaces; exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes; work alone.
Communication
Maintain an open, two-way communication with their supervisor.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on Evaluations of At-Will employees
