The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Service Manager to join the team as a member of our growing Service Oregon division. Some responsibilities include :
Functional Management
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on field technical servicesPromote safetyHold regular safety meetings with the field
Ensure safe work practices are incorporated into daily routines thru JHA's and other forms of documentationEnsure and document field technicians safety trainingEnsure field is equipped with proper PPE for the work they are expected to performPromote health and safety in every area of our serviceOversee field personnelMust maintain an adequate number of technicians to serve a variety of customers in multiple verticals
Ensure that multiple disciples are represented i.e., mechanical, electrical, plumbing, chillers, boilers etc., and that each tech is provided a growth plan in their respective disciplinesEnsure that processes and procedures are understood and followed by the field staffOversee onboarding and exit interviews as requiredOversee fleet for techniciansEnsure vehicles are maintained and serviced on a regular schedule
Ensure that vehicles are adequately shelved and stocked for the work that each technician will be doingWork with fleet services to rotate vehicles in and out of the fleet as needed to maintain a safe vehicleOversee tool inventory and managementMaintain an adequate supply of tools to support the field and review needs periodically to update inventory
Recommend new tools and equipment as technology evolves and services expandAnalyze and track tool, rental usage, and spend for budgeting purposeRecommend large capital equipment purchases when it makes financial senseCustomer ServiceEnsure that customers are being served well by ensuring the technicians are well trained for their expected work
Work with our dispatch team to review labor mix in the field and ensure the right technicians are being deployed based on the customers' expectationsWork with our repair coordinators to review quote processes, materials purchases, and policies are followed as it pertains to repair workWork with our project executives to ensure they have the right technicians and experience to perform large, complicated projects within budgeted hoursWork with our sales executives to understand the way a service was sold and the expected labor needs for each customerWork with our account management team to support the long-term effectiveness of our service and the needs to retain each client with the proper outcomesWork with other lines of business to communicate and support their work when it connects with our work and customersWork with our corporate services to ensure we are being adequately supported to best serve our customersAct as a steward of McKinstry culture and all company policies and procedures.Team Management
Responsible for building a supportive work team to ensure superior customer service, high retention of employees, and a preferred place to work.Select, train, coach and manage team members to meet business needs.Communicates performance expectations and provides performance feedback.Assess Team and Individual effectiveness through the use and analysis of available reports and data.Responsible for actively coaching and developing team. Works collaboratively with Director of Operations and Human Resources to address assigned coaching.Communication
Communicates formally and informally- Company, Line of Business and Business Unit goals, policies, plans and priorities.Communicates relevant McKinstry and client policies and procedures to ensure employee compliance.Handles escalated issues with internal and external clients and takes appropriate action to resolve them appropriately.Works collaboratively with management team and others outside of Service Line of BusinessWhat You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.Three (3) to five (5) years in a supervisory role in a support-oriented environment preferredOne (1) to two (2) years in a project management role preferredThree (3) to five (5) years in managing back-office processes (i.e. : technology management, client billing, contract management, reporting and analysis) preferredIntermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.Intermediate working knowledge of CRM and / or ERP system(s) - Salesforce and Viewpoint preferred, but not required.Knowledge of :Operational finance, budgeting and oversight required.

T he pay range for this position is $93,600 - $147,060 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
