Purpose:
The Maintenance Mechanic 1 is responsible for asisting Mechanics in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced technicians to assist in the routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and components.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspection of equipment.
- Master proper functionality and usage of hand and power tools.
- Perform simple repairs and assist in conducting diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Assist in managing parts inventory, including checking in and organizing parts/orders.
- Aid in documenting completed tasks, including maintenance logs, repair notes, and parts usage.
- Ensure the workshop and common work areas are clean, organized, and safe by following proper safety procedures and standards.
- Responsible for building maintenance.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Ability to work on-call 24/7 as scheduled; work weekends and after hours as necessary due to emergency or business need.

- Additional responsibilities as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
- Adhere to plant GMPs and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work on-call 24/7 as scheduled; work weekends and after hours as necessary due to emergencies or business needs. This position will be responsible for covering vacations of the mechanics. The need for flexibility to cover all shifts and days is paramount.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school or equivalent
- Training in electrical, mechanical, Refrigeration and/or HVAC
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with moderate levels of stress.
- Ability to interact well with co-workers, supervisors, guests, vendors, contractors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
