Funeral Service Associate (Full-time)
Purpose: This position is responsible for assisting the Funeral Directors as they serve families and assisting families and individuals who call on us during a time of loss or preparation for loss. This position will also utilize technology to assist in serving families. This will include business operations such as funeral service delivery by assisting funeral directors on a daily basis and using computers, cameras, software and applications to serve families and other staff.
Supervisor: President, Officer of the Day, Funeral Directors in Charge, Office Manager.
Hours: Position is full-time working every other weekend plus on call designated nights, and working visitations as scheduled.
Qualifications:
1. Have past experience in a service organization or other occupation serving customers.
2. Exhibit good people skills, have a professional demeanor and a willingness to serve people in a variety of circumstances with kindness and efficiency.
3. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
4. Have training, experience and display proficiency with a variety of computer and technology hardware and software.
5. Accomplish all assigned tasks in a timely and through manner.
6. Know and adhere to all written and understood policy and procedure.
7. Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist funeral directors and embalmers in funeral service delivery, following established policy and procedure.
2. Utilize technology including computers, cameras, streaming of services, processing of videos and other tasks.
3. Learn and accomplish other tasks related to funeral service delivery or business.
4. Run errands related to funeral service delivery and business operations in a timely and efficient manner as assigned or observed.
5. Assist as directed in the Care Center and crematory, be on-call as scheduled and assist funeral directors with other tasks associated with funeral service delivery.
6. When on call, be available as scheduled, respond and report in a timely manner as assigned.
7. Protect the privacy of information associated with funerals and families served.
8. Keep a positive and helpful attitude with everyone at all times- families, coworkers, etc.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Perform other tasks and duties as required by supervisors related to funeral service delivery.
2. Keep the facilities of the funeral home in a neat and clean condition, addressing needs as observed (ex. delivery boxes, light bulbs, flowers moved or delivered, doors, etc.) Maintenance and upkeep of vehicles as necessary.
Work Includes - Evenings & Weekends
Pay frequency - Every other week
Typical start and end time - 8:00 am to 6:00 PM
