As the Forklift Operator Slip Sheet Lead of McLane Global, you will be responsible for leading the slip sheet and floor load to pallet teams as well as measure and improve performance efficiencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to perform the work with the team on each shift
- Report on the performance of team
- Backfill and scale team as needed to meet business requirements
- Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English (to read pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to detect warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum experience of five (5) years experience in related role
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across functional teams
- Able to think analytically to solve issues as they arise
- Able to organize and plan team over both the near and long term
- Able to make critical company decisions
- Ability to compute efficiency metrics and report daily
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The work is medium-to-heavy work and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects
- Work may also require manual dexterity, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, distinguishing among sounds, mental acuity, reaching, speaking, talking, visual acuity for color, and walking.
- Standing for up to 8 hours a day.
- Walking for up to 8 hours per day.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes/alarms).
- Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard. Devices include traditional keyboard, 10 keypad, touch screen and other.
- Utilize material handling equipment as required for each project.
