Job Description
McLane Global is looking for a highly organized, self-motivated, and customer service-oriented HR Generalist. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and provides day-to-day support to the HR team. The ideal candidate will have a Can Do attitude who is friendly, organized and has an eye for detail with at least 1 year experience in HR, with a strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work independently, can multitask in a timely manner, and maintain business and employee confidentiality.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding including but not limited to ensures pre-employment requirements are met including, backgrounds, drug screen, offer letters, job description creation, new user set ups and employee files.
- Perform new hire orientations, updates orientation processes and ensure all employees new hire process is an efficient and exceptional experience.
- Conduct full lifecycle recruiting, staffing, and onboarding activities for US client group including: the collaborative development of position descriptions with hiring managers, obtaining requisition approvals, actively recruiting for candidates (recruitment agencies, job boards, etc.), scheduling, applicant screening, interviewing, coaching managers on interviewing and onboarding cycle.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with respect to labor law postings, FMLA, Workers Compensation and other compliance areas for all locations.
- Assist in verifying I-9 documentation (E-Verify) and maintains documents as required to ensure compliance.
- Assist with audits necessary to maintain corporate compliance and insure adherence to laws and regulations.
- Assist with general administration and clerical needs including updating HR / Payroll or Benefits forms.
- Provides support oversight for compliance with applicable state and federal statutory requirements for Texas, Utah, and California
- Sort and organize incoming mail
- Maintains employee information in the HRIS system (Paycom)
- Assist with the development and implementation of employee training programs through our HRIS system
- Enforce employee handbook policies and procedures
- Support other functions as assigned. New duties may be added at any time as the company continues to grow
- Plan and execute Employee Engagement Activities
- Assist the HR Manager and functional leaders of the Company with any assistance needed within the scope of HR functions
- Assist with Payroll Processing (Paycom)
Position Requirements
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Eager to learn with the ability to learn fast and retain information
- 1 - 5 years experience in the Human Resources field
- Multi-state operations Industry related experience considered a plus
- HRIS systems experience (Paycom preferred)
- Payroll Processing (Paycom preferred)
- Strong consultative, presentation, and business communication skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- College Degree required
Working Conditions
- Keyboarding - (Up to 8 hours per day) Entering text or data into a computer by means of a keyboard. Devices include a traditional keyboard, 10 keypads, touch screen and others.
- Sitting/Standing - (Up to 8 hours per day) The ability to alternate between sitting and standing at a desk is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and/or lunch period.
- Communication Verbally - (Up to 8 hours per day) Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
