As the Operational Excellence Coordinator of McLane Global, you will lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure successful launches of new products and services. In this role, you will champion Lean principles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout our organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Improvement
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement Lean solutions to streamline operations.
- Develop process maps, value stream maps, and standard work documentation to drive best practices.
- Facilitate and lead Kaizen events, workshops, and other Lean activities that foster improvement.
New Product & Service Launch Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Marketing, Operations) to ensure seamless integration of Lean practices in new product and service launches.
- Identify potential inefficiencies and bottlenecks in launch processes and implement Lean strategies to enhance speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor launch performance metrics, collect feedback, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in future launches.
Training and Development
- Mentor and train employees in Lean principles, tools, and techniques, empowering them to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Create training materials and deliver engaging presentations tailored to diverse audiences within the organization.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging Lean thinking across all levels.
Data Analysis
- Gather and analyze data related to operational processes to identify trends and measure improvements.
- Use statistical tools and Lean metrics to track performance and monitor progress.
- Present data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with teams across departments to support Lean projects and foster collaboration.
- Act as a liaison between management and employees, advocating Lean practices and facilitating communication.
- Partner with managers to integrate Lean principles into daily operations for sustainable improvements.
Project Management
- Lead and manage multiple Lean projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.
- Track project progress, address challenges, and report results to stakeholders.
- Maintain thorough documentation for Lean projects and initiatives to support transparency and continuous improvement.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, PDCA, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Expert Excel skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in business administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
- Minimum of 2 years in Lean methodologies, process improvement, operational excellence, or experience supporting new product/service launches.
- Proven experience in leading change initiatives and managing projects from inception to completion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work in both office and production floor environments.
- Flexible to work across 1st and 2nd shifts, as needed.
- Occasional travel (10-15%) may be required for training, workshops, or facility assessments.
- Keyboarding - (Up to 8 hours per day) Entering text or data into a computer by means of a keyboard. Devices include a traditional keyboard, 10 keypads, touch screen and others.
- Sitting/Standing - (Up to 8 hours per day) The ability to alternate between sitting and standing at a desk is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and/or lunch period.
- Communication Verbally - (Up to 8 hours per day) Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
