As the Warehouse Lead at McLane Global, you will plan, oversee, and participate in the warehouse operations and activities. The lead will be responsible for setting standards for others, providing work directions to assigned personnel, coach and train employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all safety procedures in performing work as well as company policies
- Communicating with other departments or managers to ensure that orders are fulfilled according to schedule
- Working with multiple customer parameters to build and prepare loads for shipment as requested
- Assist with auditing transactions and cycle-counting inventory
- Drive space utilization activities
- Ensure proper receipt and audit put-away of product in proper storage locations
- Ensure outbound shipments meet customer requirements and load details are effectively communicated
- Track and report productivity for team members by function to management
- Drive process improvement activities in the function area
- Ensuring that all warehouse equipment is working properly and that safety procedures are followed
- Performing physical labor such as lifting boxes, moving inventory to storage areas, or cleaning workspaces
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Exceptional customer service skills

- Requires the ability to safely operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the ability to effectively use a variety of computer programs
- Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust and fumes
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Medium Work (lifting not more than 50 lbs. at a time, with frequent lifting / carrying of 25 lbs.)
- Kneeling or crawling
- Repetitive hand or body motions
- Stepping up and down, ascending/descending stairs on pallet jack
- Stooping, crouching, or bending
- Reaching with arms and hands above head or to full extension
- Grasping - applying pressure to an object with fingers, thumb, and palm
