Assistant Nurse Manager Emergency

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the nursing plan of care for patients within the assigned unit.Responsible to see that the nursing plan of care meets the physiological and emotional needs of the patients served.Directs patient care through performance and/or leadership of patient care team members and patient care management staff. Assists in the coordination of patient care through the appropriate utilization of all resources: staff, equipment, supplies, etc. As an expert to manage the assigned specialty, is a resource to both the medical center staff and physicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care/Affiliate vision, mission, and values.
2. Maintains operational responsibility for assigned units, with collaboration and support from the Nurse Manager.
3. Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors and employees. Follows up on complaints and provides feedback.Monitors level of patient, staff and physician satisfaction.
4. Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines. Ensures staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs and other staff development opportunities.
5. Demonstrates leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching, research, and communicating changes in policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan
• ACLS Certification

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field
