What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Patient Care Services Operating Room position at McLaren Greater Lansing?
Position Summary:
Has responsibility for 24-hour accountability for the management of assigned patient care unit(s)/function(s). In this capacity, will accomplish the mission and vision of McLaren Greater Lansing through effective utilization of all resources, constantly striving to increase quality patient care and maintain a high degree of patient satisfaction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensures a process is in place for the establishment of standards of performance, quality improvement and care delivery model for their areas of responsibility. Monitors the process to ensure it is working.
- Solves problems related to the functioning of the department, both interdepartmental and intradepartmental. Involves staff in this process. Ensures process moves to desirable outcome. Delegates to Patient Care Coordinator as appropriate.
- All aspects of personnel management of department employees. Demonstrates collaborative interpersonal and communication skills. Facilitates high performance from staff.
- Determines and coordinates departmental needs and operations regarding schedules and staffing patterns. Responsible for establishing and meeting productivity benchmarks.
- Develops, interprets, administers and communicates department policies, procedures, protocols and regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited school of nursing (BSN) or Bachelor of Science (BS). (Associate degree /diploma in nursing may be considered with five or more years of relevant experience. Must complete BSN or BS within 3 to 5 years from date of hire.)
- Licensed registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
- BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
- Demonstrated management potential or middle management experience.
Preferred:
- Master Degree in Nursing or related field.
Salary : $100,318 - $165,505
