Position Summary:
Maintains cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, and disinfecting. Cleans patients rooms for occupancy after discharge.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Sets up, organizes, cleans and maintains work area.
- Cleans items such as, but not limited to, floors, restrooms, showers, tubs, furniture, windows, lights, drinking fountains, fire extinguishers, and waste baskets.
- Maintains cleanliness by using methods such as, but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, damp mopping, vacuuming, washing, wiping, polishing, disinfecting as appropriate and spot wash walls.
- Responsible for correct use of cleaning compounds.
- Responsible for using and cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
- Replaces supplies as needed.
- May be assigned to change drapes, shower curtains and cubicles.
- Prepares patient room for occupancy after patient is discharged.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
