part of an informatics team, is involved in all stages of system development,
integration and maintenance of third party computer software systems utilized
by a variety of end users at the Karmanos Cancer Institute through
communication, analysis, gathering requirements, programming, testing,
documentation, implementation and training.
Responsibilities :
Provides system support for bymaintaining, implementing upgrades, training and problem solving.
Provides support as related toprinters, scanners, etc. as associated to third party computer software.
Works with senior members of staffto support the business and technology needs of end users by providingdata, reports and technical tools within specified deadlines.
Works in a team environment involvedin all stages of system development or integration of third party productsthrough design, build, test and implementation phases.
Consultswith managerial personnel, business analysts, programmer analysts andclients to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, anddetermine extent of programming and coding required to support end users.
BA / BS in a technical field or healthcare field with at least three years of experience in health care; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 7 and Unix operating systems preferred.
Familiarity with various programming languages and application development platforms like : Java, Perl, SQL, web, reporting tools, C# .Net Framework, Oracle and Visual Basic preferred.
Familiarity with structured System Development Life-Cycle and healthcare / life sciences a plus.
Results-oriented plus excellent analytical and communication skills.
Able to work independently using initiative and good judgment.
