Summary: Assists General Manager in reporting financial condition of dealerships to the corporate office and individual stores regularly and accurately. Supervise staff as assigned by the General Manager. Essential Duties: Prepares complete financial statements monthly according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer’s format and time frame. Reviews financial statements for accuracy and reports to General Manager regarding possible accounting discrepancies. Corrects accounting for financial reporting at Controller’s direction. Maintains DOCs for all franchises Reviews general ledger and schedules accounts as assigned by the General Manager. Notes any unusual entries and investigates. Reviews reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources as assigned by the General Manager to ensure proper reconciliation of accounts. Ensures that office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analyses and supervises the preparation of all information for the CPA in order to minimize audit or review costs. Assists dealership personnel with questions and problems regarding cancellations, vehicle receivables and parts and service receivables. Makes recommendations to Comptroller regarding hiring, firing, terminations and advancement of personnel within those departments. Attends managers meetings. Marginal Duties: Assists with related special projects as required. Maintains professional appearance. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises cash receipts, vehicle accounts receivable, parts and service accounts receivable and warranty cancellation department personnel. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive varity of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license. Must pass and maintain MVR insurability standards. Must pass applicable background and drug screenings.
