Description
Prepares the vehicles for painting and paints the vehicles in a manner that the paint will last for the life of the vehicle and a layperson will not be able to tell that it has been painted.
Essential Duties :
Follow I-CAR and paint manufactures procedures for preparing a vehicle for painting.
Take the necessary steps to ensure color match.
Always take into account the cost of the product that is being used.
Produce an "Invisible" repair.
Demonstrates creative ability to resolve difficult painting situations and application imperfections.
Keeps paint shop clean at all times.
Operates the distiller to optimize reproduction of thinner.
Makes sure that all OSHA requirements are being followed.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Manufacturer's training certificate.
Valid Driver's License.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
