What are the responsibilities and job description for the MBC Tysons - Rock Operations Manager position at McLean Bible Church?
Job Duties (Essential Functions)
- Project-managing the development of the Rock calendar and major ministry events
- Leading Rock Summer and Winter Camps across Locations, including project management and on-site Camp Director role
- Planning Tysons Location camp logistics, including promotion of camp, student check-in process, bus organization, etc.
- Overseeing communications, including writing the Rock Newsletter, writing material for churchwide communication, leading inquiry response, and managing social media
- Implementing the Rock’s welcome processes, including greeting, attendance tracking, and check-in
- Coordinating with other MBC teams, such as Communications (for graphics and promotion) and A/V (for maintenance needed in Rock spaces)
- Purchasing, financial tracking, and other financial support
- Overseeing the recruiting, onboarding, and tracking of volunteer leaders (including ensuring leaders have fulfilled safety requirements and have updated background checks)
- Maintaining organization of Rock spaces
- Investing in female students with an emphasis in middle school ministry
- Conducting general office duties, such as preparing reports, arranging meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and booking rooms.
- Other duties as assigned by manager or other MBC leaders.
Qualifications
- Committed to following Jesus.
- Two years of ministry or operational experience preferred.
- High capacity for project management, organization, and process development/implementation.
- Ability to keep others organized while keeping a positive disposition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Above average capacity for using computers and learning new programs.
- Readiness to commit to membership at MBC and participation in a Church Group.
Working Conditions
- The Rock Operations Manager position typically works Sunday-Thursday, including Wednesday evenings. There may be additional nights and weekends for special projects.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
- This position requires up to 5% local travel.
Physical Requirement
Must be able to read, speak, and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the Rock Operations Manager is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, kneel, and lift. The Rock Operations Manager is required to be able to lift and carry items that can weigh 25 pounds or more for short distances.
