Position Title: Communications Specialist
Department: Administration
Reports to: Director of Communications

SUMMARY
Assist the Director of Communications in executing the District’s daily and long-term communication strategies, focusing on branding, marketing, digital outreach, and partner engagement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in marketing and/or communications (preferred).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in producing high-quality videos, publications, social media content, and web materials.
- Strong knowledge of web-based technologies, including live streaming, social media platforms, content management systems, and digital media.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat DC).
- Experience with digital photography and videography.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to manage projects from conception to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Management & Compliance:
- Oversee District website content, making timely updates and improvements.
- Utilize content management systems to update and maintain district web pages for both Internet and Intranet.
- Write, edit, design, and publish new and existing web pages.
- Ensure compliance with local and legal website policies and accessibility requirements.
Photography, Videography & Graphic Design:
- Capture photos and videos of district events, meetings, and key activities for website and social media use.
- Produce high-quality videos, livestream events, and create engaging visual content.
- Design graphics and materials for daily and long-term communication needs.
Content Strategy & Branding:
- Assist in developing content and brand strategies
- Ensure consistency in design, branding, and formatting across digital platforms Continuously evaluate and optimize digital media for effective cross-platform communication.
Communications & Collaboration:
- Assist in supporting internal and external communications, including content production and distribution.
- Assist staff in maintaining sections of the district’s website and messaging platforms (e.g., School Messenger, Infinite Campus Messaging).
- Collaborate with various departments, including Technology and Human Resources.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as required to support district communication efforts.
Work requires travel to different locations within the district and to off-site meetings.
Position requires working some evenings and some weekends.
Compensation:
Salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 annually
