JOB SUMMARY
The Structural Foam Process Technician is responsible for the safe start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting of the structural foam process during average production runs. This includes setting up structural foam molding machines and changeovers. The role involves collecting and analyzing production and quality data to perform problem-solving and facilitate continuous improvement in production and purchasing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform tooling changes as per schedule, including setting dryers, and thermometers, processing functions of the molding machine, and conducting line clearance activity.
- Ensure the first-piece inspection is complete, and the product is in conformance before releasing the line to full production.
- Monitor running machines to ensure correct operation, keeping process documentation up to date.
- Make process adjustments as required, identifying issues related to materials, tooling, and machines.
- Work closely with shift leadership and maintenance teams to reduce downtime.
- Actively participate in structural foam continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist the Process Engineer in ensuring molded specifications are achieved.
- Troubleshoot in a safe manner issues related to tooling, presses, and material handling systems.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to the day’s planned schedule.
- Sustain and help develop the “5S” program, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other activities as directed by supervision.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Solid understanding of quality and safety practices.
ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Understand and follow all departmental safety rules.
- Interpret and apply Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Comprehend ISO sections related to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of all functions of the molding process.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Process Technician or Mold Setter.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standing and walking (up to continuously).
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
- Lifting and carrying raw materials, finished products, tools, and machinery weighing up to 30-50 pounds.
- Use of vision, hearing, and speaking for effective communication and monitoring.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors.
- Exposure to temperatures aligned with outdoor seasonal conditions.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
