GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The Event Planners will plan and oversee events at McLennan locations including Northwood House and Conference Center. These positions receive general direction from the Director of Purchasing and Auxiliary Services and exercises no supervision. The Event Planner position requires working after business hours and weekends when necessary.
NOTE : This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA :
The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired : Knowledge of : 1. Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; 2. QuickBooks, Ellucian Colleague and other necessary software; 3. Record keeping and reporting; 4. College policies and guidelines; 5. Verbal and written communication; 6. Standard dining etiquette and proper table place settings; Skills in : 7. Organization and attention to detail; 8. Prioritizing tasks and multitasking; 9. Proper use of English language, both verbally and in writing; Ability to : 10. Work in a team environment; 11. Effectively communicate between proper channels; 12. Work well with various vendors; 13. Maintain accurate records and reporting; 14. Execute superior customer service when dealing with a wide range of populations.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Restricted- Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Minimal Hazard / Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Education : Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. (a minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree).
Special Requirements : Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be insurable and maintain insurability under the College's automobile insurance policy.
