Job Details
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
Verifies patient by identification band and verbal response comparing two identifiers with the requisition and chart.
Ensures correct procedure is done by checking chart or prescription for correct exam order, calls for order clarification as needed and documents order clarification correctly.
Treats patient and procedure in accordance with the McLeod Health Confidentiality policy.
Completes annual training and demonstrates age-specific care thereby meeting the needs of patient population served.
Greets and assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure, thoroughly explains procedure, length, and expectations along with desired results.
Expresses sincere concern for patient’s well-being by conveying the feeling that they are the reason we are here and to reduce the patient’s anxiety.
Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure based on body habitus, pathology, and body part while consistently positioning patient properly during procedure.
Verifies that all images obtained have crossed over successfully into Pacs and are of high quality prior to forwarding to the Radiologists for interpretation.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of imaging equipment being used, which will be listed on the Competency Skills Checklist.
Maintains attentiveness to equipment and patient during procedure.
Maintains acceptable completion time based on the complexity of the procedure and or condition of the patient thereby demonstrating good utilization of time through productivity.
Maintains all required documentation and data required by accrediting body in accordance with MQSA standards and McLeod Health policy, specific to mammography technologist only.
Upon successful completion of initial orientation and training, technologist must be able to perform all Mammography exams (screening, diagnostic, stereotactic biopsy, and Bone Density (DXA) exams) in accordance with hospital protocols and policies without assistance.
Job Requirements
BLS certification required.
License / Certificate Verification required.
Proof of 2 immunizations or Titer for MMR required.
Proof of 3 vaccinations or Titer for Hepatitis B required.
Provide a copy of a valid up to date driver's license required.
2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon / Tspot) required within specified time frames.
Proof of 2 immunizations or Titer for Varicella required.
Resume or Profile preferred but not required.
Criminal Background Check Results required within specified time frames.
Employment Verification required within specified time frames.
