About Us McManamy Jackson Hollis, LLC is a law firm specializing in real estate transactions of both residential and commercial property. The firm has offices in Savannah, Richmond Hill, Rincon, and Pooler. Savannah is the main office. The firm employs more than 30 lawyers and staff.
Job Summary Closing Paralegals are responsible for preparing files for closing to include the preparation of title policies, drafting of Deeds, closing statements and other legal documentation required for closing. Closers are also responsible for communicating with lenders, agents, buyers, and sellers to coordinate and prepare closing documents, scheduling, and other logistical matters as it respects real estate transactions.
Non-Exempt Position
Usual Hours – Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Reporting Structure
Closing Paralegal reports to the Administrative Manager
Administrative Manager reports to the COO
Essential Functions
- Responsible for communicating & coordinating closing processes and procedures with the Firm’s clients
- Drafts and organizes various transactional documents for closing transactions such as Deeds, Affidavits, Powers of Attorney, Closing Statements, etc.
- Prepares title commitments and policies
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling closings
- Responsible for balancing accounting ledgers and the receipt and disbursement of closing funds
- Reviews file management and accounting reports and works with Post Closing department as well as senior management to identify and remedy any outstanding closing requirements
- Maintains detailed paper and electronic documentation for audit compliance
- Exhibits organizational and time management skills.
- Works well under pressure with stringent deadlines and be a team player

- Willingness to participate in system focused work-flow process in which he or she is one of many links
- Expresses thoughts clearly and concisely through written and verbal communication

Minimum Qualifications
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Closers must be able to balance accounting ledgers and have a basic understanding of sound accounting practices in accordance with Federal and State laws as well as internal firm policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of previous experience in real estate, banking, insurance, compliance, or accountancy required
- Real estate software experience such as SoftPro, Closers Choice, Qualia preferred
- Must have basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Employment is subject to a 60-day probationary period
