Hotel Housekeeping Assistant-Assistant Manager (AAM)

TITLE: Housekeeping AAM
REPORTS TO: Hotel Manager and Property Manager
FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt
The job duties described below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of this position. All employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
Description Of Position
This position’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; Assist the Hotel Housekeeping AM and Hotel Manager with oversight in all housekeeping related operations. The Housekeeping AAM is responsible for supervision of housekeeping staff and ensures that housekeepers are trained in proper procedures for cleaning rooms, closets, bathrooms, hallways and will also assist the housekeeping staff with any task, as needed. The Housekeeping AAM is also responsible for checking departures and notifying housekeepers of changes to their room assignment list. In addition, the Housekeeping AAM will perform room checks for readiness after housekeepers have finished with a room, be responsible for reporting any repair issues to facilities, and follow-up with any issue with rooms or housekeepers to hotel manager in a timely fashion. Furthermore, this position will also have the responsibility of checking all closets and carts for readiness after other housekeepers have left for the day, will take a weekly inventory of cleaning supplies, and notify the Hotel AM and Hotel Manager of any equipment or product needs. The Housekeeping AAM will be expected to work effectively with the hotel manager on hiring needs, training, complying with and enforcing all company, property and departmental policies. As with any position, the Housekeeping AAM will direct hotel guests with general questions and locations of rooms/events/locations on property. This job can be hard physical work and requires the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment. You must also have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management. All McMenamins employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history, and products. Other duties are to be completed as assigned by the Manager on duty.

Requirements Of The Position
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have a flexible schedule working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- The ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and efficiently
- The ability to stay calm and professional in a stressful deadline oriented environment
- Effectively manage housekeeping operations
- Must have a value for diversity and the ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds
- Safely practice heavy lifting and carrying with the help of another person, if necessary
- Heavy lifting with the help of another person, as necessary
- Enforcement of all company policies in a fair and consistent manner
- Work on your feet for long periods of time including standing, walking, and stair climbing
- Working with chemicals and solvents used in cleaning and sanitizing
- Repetitive movement including pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping
