What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic position at MCMH?
MCMH Clinics is seeking a Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department. The position would be three 12 hour shifts per week, 11AM to 11 PM. Position would include working every other weekend and half of the holidays. Job requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, current valid Paramedic certification issued by Iowa Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Services, current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
The Emergency Department (ED) Paramedic provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support under direct supervision of the ED Practitioner while working in the Emergency Department. Duties and responsibilities are performed in a manner adhering to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The ED Paramedic participates with all members of the ED team to facilitate patient flow through the ED. The ED Paramedic provides patient care as dictated by patient need, under direction of the RN. The Emergency Department Paramedic is supervised by the Registered Nurse, ED Nurse Manager, ED Practitioner and ED Medical Director.
