The ideal candidate will be keen to take on a variety of assignments, both in the field and supporting senior geotechnical engineers and project managers on analysis, design, and reporting tasks. Specifically, preparing subcontractor agreements, soil and rock core logging, collecting disturbed and undisturbed samples for index and high-end laboratory testing, supervising in situ testing, and developing laboratory testing schedules to suit project-specific requirements and budgets.

  • Prepare geotechnical data and design reports as well as provide geotechnical/geological contributions to design documentation reports for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Collaborate with Design Technology staff to prepare and revise project drawings.
  • Communicate directly with multidisciplinary engineering teams to interpret geotechnical/geological conditions and their implications on design and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geological or Civil Engineering (with a geotechnical focus) preferred. A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering would be considered an asset but is not required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Professional Engineer (preferably P.E. in at least one State; however, a P.Eng. in at least one Province/Territory would be considered an asset).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience. Experience with executing subsurface geotechnical investigations for dam projects would be considered a tremendous asset.
  • Proficiency in field logging, classification, in situ and laboratory testing of soil and rock using a variety of drilling and testing techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and communicating design intent from contract documents, plans, and specifications.

We offer strategic planning, technical expertise, comprehensive project management, and integration of multi-disciplinary studies for traditional and alternative project delivery methods.

We want our employees to make a career doing what they love to do. We aren't looking for the complacent or the comfortable.
