Overview
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying that parts and products meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality through the use of measurement tools and adherence to quality management systems.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in using Measurement and Monitoring Equipment (MME), such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and other precision tools.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Perform detailed inspections of parts and products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
2. Utilize various Measurement and Monitoring Equipment (MME) to check part dimensions and tolerances.
3. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to guide inspection processes.
4. Record and document inspection results, including any non-conformances, and report findings to the quality and production teams.
5. Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and process improvements.
6. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products.
7. Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration schedules are followed.
8. Work closely with the production team to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
9. Adhere to all company safety policies and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methods.
- Proficiency in using various types of MME for part inspection.
- Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting quality issues and findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control position.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 certified environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the aerospace, medical device, or manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with CMM operation and programming.
