Job Summary
The Warehouse Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, including accurately packing items, generating shipping labels, updating inventory records, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. The Shipping Clerk will manage the receiving of incoming shipments and verifying their accuracy against purchase orders. Additionally. the position acts as the company ambassador of the warehouse operations and initial point of contact for delivery drivers
Essential Job Functions:
· Reviewing orders for accuracy, pulling items from inventory, and packaging them according to shipping specifications.
· Creating shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary paperwork with accurate information.
· Maintaining accurate inventory records by updating stock levels after each shipment.
· Contacting carriers to schedule pick-ups, arranging delivery options, and tracking shipments.
· Checking incoming shipments for damage and reporting any discrepancies.
· Unloading deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and storing items in designated areas.
· Entering shipping information into computer systems to track orders and generate reports.
· Adhering to shipping regulations and procedures regarding labeling, documentation, and hazardous materials.
Qualification Requirements: Knowledge/Skills/Ability
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software
· Basic math skills for calculations related to quantities and weights
· Ability to lift and move packages within weight limits
· Excellent communication skills to interact with carriers and internal departments
· Physical stamina for a fast-paced warehouse environment
Minimum Qualifications
· Associates degree (or equivalent) in management, business, customer service, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience, or 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing warehouse or shipping clearinghouse
· Proven eye for detail and organization
· Demonstrated understanding of the shipping and receiving management process
Physical Demands:
· Frequent standing, walking; using hands and fingers, handling, or feel objects, tools,
or controls
· Regularly sitting and using a computer in a climate-controlled environment
· Physically able to lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds with assistance
· Occasional use of fork trucks and pallet jacks
Work Environment:
· Noise level that is usually moderate and occasionally loud, though below requiring ear protection threshold
· Climate conditions that vary in temperature and humidity in the warehouse, however the office is climate controlled
· Working in and around heavy manufacturing equipment to include fork trucks
· Exposure to caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, sprays, and
non‐household dust
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
