Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement through effective HR strategies. This position requires a strong leader who can collaborate across departments, manage HR operations, and drive process improvements to support the organization’s goals.
Work closely with the Operations Manager to manage day-to-day office and company activities. Be ready to assist restaurant management teams and line level employees.
Responsibilities
Intra-Company:
· Works with OM to create and distribute all policies, procedures, standards, and training programs issued to the restaurants for Martingale Wharf & Rosa Restaurant
· Answer any questions from the OM and work to get the information needed.
· Answer the phone and be able to answer questions regarding restaurants and the business as a whole and know where to find information.
· Be available to answer questions pertaining to all business-related materials.
· Follow through with all tasks given to Portsmouth Hospitality
· Ensure operating procedures are followed and adhered to.
· Maintains a working relationship with Portsmouth Hospitality’s various insurance companies in collaboration with OM.
· Maintains and issues alarm codes for the restaurants and serves as the first point of contact with emergencies.
· Periodic review of employee and manager files
· Keep accurate records of all company files including legal and financial documents, all permits and licenses.
· Creates and maintains company SharePoint server.
· Initiates and maintains all vendor communication for restaurant repairs and maintenance.
· Ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed in a timely manner.
· Working with the service vendor and their invoices forming positive relationships with our vendors.
Payroll Management:
· Work closely with the GM’s/OM to ensure accuracy and compliance with biweekly payroll for Rosa and Martingale Wharf
Platform Management
Provides training and backup for Toast, Seven Shifts, Resy, BBOT, Share Point
Accounting
· Work with the accounting department on tax returns.
· Facilitates issues with payroll companies.
· Communicates with the accounting department ensuring invoices are uploaded into platforms correctly.
International Employees/Students:
· J1 & H2B student recruiting, communicating with interexchange and other host companies.
· J1 & H2B student liaison, welcoming students and ensuring their living quarters are ready.
· On-Boards for rental payments through payroll deductions.
· Main contact for students while employed by Portsmouth Hospitality, helping solve personal, workplace problems and introduction to and enforcement of Property Management Rules and Regulations
· Coordinates with Property Management on Arrival and Departure dates
Community
· Builds and maintains relationships with Portsmouth Chamber and other local organizations.
Government
· Facilitates all City and State permits; to include food (Health Dept.), liquor licenses State of NH Liquor Commission, and all municipal and state requirements for assembly permits.
· Maintains timely business licensing, music license, meals and room tax compliance.
· Primary point of contact regarding loading zone permit(s), sidewalk encumbrances, A-frame signs, sidewalk benches, flowerpots and outdoor dining.

· All other tasks assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
