Stage Hand / Driver

Responsibilities:

• Operating Forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Learning and utilizing inventory management
• Maintaining a clean and organized dock.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Driving box trucks throughout the southern California area.
• Scanning in/out barcodes for each item, including multiple pieces within one unit.
• Scanning incoming equipment when returned and checking for missing parts and damages.
• Picking up and dropping off equipment from local vendors.
• Assisting with the installation and strike of equipment and scenic pieces.
• Assisting with touch-ups of scenic walls and fabrication pieces.
• Lifting various scenic and tech event-related equipment. (50 lbs.)
• Working cooperatively within a team and with other departments.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Dock Manager and MEI staff.

Experience:

• Experience driving 26-foot box trucks, forklifts, and heavy machinery
• Experience working in a warehouse/dock environment
• Practical experience working on event sites (staging, truss, rigging)
• Basic carpentry skills/ability to use power tools
• Experience with audio, video, and lighting
• Excellent physical stamina, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn new things.
• Must have clean driving record

Schedule: Dock/Stagehand/Drivers will be working in the dock and driving to different venues across southern CA.

M-F 8:30 am- 5:00 pm (Early morning load-ins, late-night strikes, 10 hr. shifts, and weekend availability.
